The 2016 vintage will have seen changing climatic conditions, but the result is good volumes of harvests. The Bordeaux wines were disturbed by summer droughts but saved by the last rains before the harvest. The reds wines are very successful such as the Château Cheval Blanc 2016, Château Haut Brion 2016 and also the Château Lascombes 2016 in Margaux appellation.
Burgundy had its worst frost since 1981. Paradoxically, we are talking about a good vintage with surprising but rare wines due to the poor harvests.
In Rhône, 2016 red wines are good. The white wines are secondary, except for the Chateauneuf-du-Pape appellation wich presents very successful wines with good maturity.
