The wines of the 1897 vintage are very rare. It was also a very successful year for the ports. The 1897 vintage though very good, had to take a back seat. Only seven loyal port houses shipped the Queen Victoria diamond jubilee vintage. What makes these old ports a prestige and an additional rarity.
