Sintflutartige Regenf\u00e4lle und der Zyklon Hortense sind die Ursache f\u00fcr zerst\u00f6rte Ernten und damit f\u00fcr die Unf\u00e4higkeit, den Merlot zu ernten. Die Weine sind hart, gr\u00fcn und gr\u00f6\u00dftenteils gereift. Selbst Petrus brachte nur 20 % seiner \u00fcblichen Ernte ein. Aufgrund der geografischen Lage der Reben produzierten die gro\u00dfen Schl\u00f6sser immer noch sch\u00f6ne Flaschen. Wei\u00dfweine sind schlecht, s\u00e4urehaltig, leicht und verblasst. Rotweine sind mittelm\u00e4\u00dfig, unausgewogen und m\u00e4\u00dfig gut. Gro\u00dfe Weing\u00fcter wie die Domaine de la Roman\u00e9e Conti zeichnen sich durch ihr Know-how aus. Die Loire gl\u00e4nzt mit ihren Wei\u00dfweinen und das Rhonetal mit der Appellation Ch\u00e2teauneuf du Pape.
